The Accessibility & Belonging Committee (ABC) is dedicated to enhancing accessibility and fostering a culture of belonging within NCURA Region V. This committee comprises passionate volunteers committed to creating a more inclusive environment for all.
We invite all Region V members to participate in the Accessibility & Belonging Committee. Your unique perspectives and experiences are invaluable to our mission. Together, we can create a supportive and inclusive community that reflects the diversity of our members.
Committee Mission:
The Accessibility & Belonging Committee is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating programs and initiatives that support the diverse needs of our members. We welcome individuals from all career stages and backgrounds to join us in this important work.
Focus Areas:
The Accessibility & Belonging Committee focuses on several key areas to promote accessibility and inclusivity, including but not limited to:
- Dietary Accommodations: Ensuring all members can fully participate in events.
- Hearing Accessibility: Providing solutions for effective communication.
- Digital Accessibility: Making our online platforms user-friendly for everyone.
- Physical Accessibility: Enhancing the accessibility of venues and facilities.
- Communication Inclusivity: Fostering respectful and effective communication across diverse backgrounds.
- Educational Access: Ensuring all members have access to learning opportunities.
- Technology Access: Providing resources and training in assistive technologies.
