The Mustang Mentoring Committee (MMC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Mustang Mentoring Program (MMP). The MMP is geared for research administrators in Region V who have been in the profession from one to five years. The program is designed to establish a leadership pipeline of individuals to serve at the regional level as mentors, while providing educational and professional resources to promote the development of MMP candidates. The overall approach to mentoring should result in increased volunteer involvement and participation from NCURA Region V members. The curriculum for the MMP will be based on the book The Leadership Challenge: How to Make Extraordinary Things Happen in Organizations by James M. Kouzes and Barry Z. Posner.
What are the benefits of being involved?
- MMP candidates will be matched with a Region V mentor
- MMP candidates will participate in structured monthly phone calls with topics focused on the book The Leadership Challenge
- MMP candidates will create and lead their own capstone project to be presented at the Region V Spring meeting.
- Graduates of the MMP will be eligible to apply for a $1000 regional travel award to attend the spring meeting.
The application deadline is March 20. The first cohort of the Mustang Mentoring Program will be announced at the Region V Spring meeting in Fort Worth from April 26-29, 2020.
